    Product Description:
R-(-)-Flecainide is the (R)-enantiomer of flecainide acetate, a class Ic antiarrhythmic agent. It is a chiral molecule with a fluorinated aromatic ring and an amide linkage. The (R)-enantiomer is one of the two stereoisomers of the drug substance. This compound is primarily used as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for the treatment of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia. It functions as a potent sodium channel blocker, slowing conduction in the heart's His-Purkinje system and ventricles. Flecainide is also indicated for the prevention of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation/flutter and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias. The development and use of the individual enantiomer, R-(-)-flecainide, are of interest in pharmaceutical research to understand potential differences in pharmacokinetics, efficacy, or side-effect profiles compared to the racemic mixture. It is handled as a high-potency active substance, requiring appropriate safety precautions.
