    Product Description:
Uniconazole is a triazole-type plant growth regulator. It is a potent inhibitor of gibberellin biosynthesis, specifically targeting the enzyme ent-kaurene oxidase. This inhibition leads to reduced stem elongation, resulting in a more compact and sturdy plant stature. Its primary application is in agriculture and horticulture as a plant growth retardant. It is widely used on a variety of crops, including rice, fruit trees, and ornamental plants, to control excessive vegetative growth, improve lodging resistance, enhance stress tolerance, and promote flowering and fruit set. It is more active than its analog paclobutrazol. While its main use is as an agrochemical, its core structure, featuring a triazole ring linked to a tertiary alcohol and a chlorinated phenyl group, makes it a relevant example of a functionalized heterocyclic building block in synthetic chemistry, particularly for studies involving triazole derivatives and their biological activities.
