    Product Description:
Isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA) is a monofunctional methacrylate monomer characterized by a bulky, rigid isobornyl group derived from camphene. Its chemical structure combines the highly reactive methacrylic double bond with the hydrophobic and sterically hindered bicyclic terpene moiety. This unique combination imparts distinctive properties to the polymers derived from it. The primary application of IBOMA is in the production of specialty polymers and coatings. Its bulky side chain provides excellent properties such as high glass transition temperature (Tg), low shrinkage upon polymerization, good hydrophobicity, and enhanced chemical resistance. It is widely used in UV-curable inks, coatings, and adhesives, as well as in dental materials and optical lenses. It also serves as a key monomer for modifying the properties of acrylic resins, improving their hardness, scratch resistance, and weatherability. As a reactive monomer, it is also utilized in the synthesis of various copolymers and functional materials, acting as an organic synthesis building block to introduce rigidity and specific performance characteristics.
