    Product Description:
Tricine, chemically named N-[tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl]glycine, is a zwitterionic amino acid derivative and a member of the Good's buffers family. Its structure features a tertiary amine and three hydroxyl groups, providing high buffering capacity in the physiological pH range. Tricine is primarily used as a biological buffer in biochemical and molecular biology research, particularly for electrophoresis and protein crystallization. It is a key component in Tricine-SDS-PAGE systems for separating low molecular weight proteins and peptides. Additionally, it serves as a pH stabilizer in cell culture media and enzymatic assays due to its minimal metal ion binding and low UV absorbance. As a general-purpose laboratory reagent, Tricine is also employed in chemical synthesis as a mild buffering agent or a precursor for specialized derivatives. Its high water solubility and stability make it suitable for both analytical and preparative applications in life sciences and synthetic chemistry.
