    Product Description:
Gabexate mesylate is a synthetic serine protease inhibitor. Chemically, it is the methanesulfonate salt of gabexate, which is an ester derivative of 6-guanidinohexanoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid. It is a white to off-white crystalline powder. Its primary and well-established application is as a therapeutic agent (API) for the treatment of acute pancreatitis and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). It functions by inhibiting proteolytic enzymes such as trypsin, kallikrein, plasmin, and thrombin, thereby reducing inflammation and abnormal coagulation. It is administered via intravenous infusion. As an active pharmaceutical ingredient, it is also relevant in pharmaceutical analysis as a reference standard or impurity standard for quality control during manufacturing and regulatory processes.
