    Product Description:
Isoprenaline hydrochloride is a synthetic catecholamine and a non-selective β-adrenergic receptor agonist. It is the hydrochloride salt of isoprenaline (isoproterenol), a direct-acting sympathomimetic amine. The compound is a white or almost white, crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water. Its primary and most significant application is in medicine as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). It is a potent bronchodilator used in the treatment of bronchospasm associated with conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and during anesthesia. It works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the airways. Historically, it was also a critical drug for the emergency management of bradycardia (slow heart rate), heart block, and cardiac arrest due to its strong stimulatory effects on the heart, increasing heart rate and contractility. However, for cardiac indications, it has largely been superseded by more selective agents like epinephrine and atropine due to its pronounced side effects, including tachycardia and arrhythmias. Isoprenaline hydrochloride is typically administered via inhalation (nebulizer or metered-dose inhaler) for respiratory conditions or by intravenous injection for acute cardiac emergencies. It is considered a classic, first-generation β-agonist and remains an important agent in specific clinical scenarios and pharmacological research.
