    Product Description:
(R)-3-t-Butyl-beta-alanine is a chiral, non-natural amino acid derivative characterized by a tert-butyl group at the beta-position relative to the carboxylic acid functionality. It serves as a key chiral building block in pharmaceutical synthesis. Its primary application is as a crucial intermediate in the production of chiral active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Notably, it is a key component in the synthesis of (R)-3-(tert-butylamino)-1-(2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-4-yl)propan-1-one, which is an intermediate for the chiral drug candidate PF-04457845. PF-04457845 is a potent and selective fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor investigated for the treatment of pain and anxiety disorders. The chiral integrity of this intermediate is essential for the biological activity of the final drug molecule. As a beta-amino acid with a bulky tert-butyl group, it is also utilized in peptide mimetics research and as a specialty chiral synthon in asymmetric synthesis to introduce steric hindrance and influence conformational properties.
