    Product Description:
Octafluoronaphthalene is a perfluorinated aromatic compound with the molecular formula C__F_. Structurally, it is a naphthalene derivative where all eight hydrogen atoms are replaced by fluorine atoms, resulting in a highly electron-deficient and thermally stable polycyclic system. Its primary application lies in the field of organic electronics, particularly as a precursor or building block for n-type organic semiconductors and electron transport materials (ETMs) used in OLEDs and organic photovoltaics (OPVs). The strong electron-withdrawing nature of the fluorine atoms lowers the LUMO energy level, facilitating electron injection and transport. Additionally, it serves as a versatile synthetic intermediate for preparing advanced fluorinated materials, including liquid crystals and specialty polymers. Due to its high volatility and inertness, it is also used as a reference standard in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for calibration.
