    Product Description:
2-Propoxyethanol, also known as ethylene glycol monopropyl ether, is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a mild, ether-like odor. It is a glycol ether characterized by the presence of both an ether and a hydroxyl group, making it miscible with water and a wide range of organic solvents. Its primary industrial application is as a solvent in surface coatings, paints, varnishes, lacquers, and cleaning formulations. It is valued for its effectiveness in dissolving resins and its ability to retard the evaporation rate, improving film formation and flow. Additionally, it finds use as a solvent in printing inks, dyes, and as a component in hydraulic fluids and brake fluids. 2-Propoxyethanol is considered hazardous. It can cause irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract upon exposure. Prolonged or repeated skin contact can lead to defatting and dermatitis. It is also harmful if swallowed or inhaled, and may cause damage to organs (e.g., blood, kidneys, central nervous system) through prolonged or repeated exposure. Proper personal protective equipment and adequate ventilation are essential when handling this chemical.
