    Product Description:
Dipropylene glycol (DPG), with CAS number 25265-71-8, is a mixture of three isomeric chemical compounds: 2-(2-hydroxypropoxy)propan-1-ol, 2-(2-hydroxy-1-methylethoxy)propan-1-ol, and 1,1'-oxybispropan-2-ol. It is a colorless, nearly odorless, hygroscopic liquid with a high boiling point and excellent solvent properties for a wide range of substances, including many resins, dyes, and oils. Its primary industrial applications are as a solvent, coupling agent, and humectant. In the cosmetics and personal care industry, it is widely used as a solvent for fragrances, essential oils, and active ingredients, and as a humectant in lotions, creams, and deodorants. It also serves as a key component in many industrial applications, such as in hydraulic fluids, brake fluids, and as a solvent in printing inks, paints, and coatings. Its low volatility and good water solubility make it a versatile ingredient. While generally recognized as safe for use in cosmetics and food contact applications at specified levels, proper handling procedures should be followed, as with all chemical substances. It is considered to have low acute toxicity but can cause mild skin and eye irritation upon direct contact.
