    Product Description:
Oseltamivir acid, also known as oseltamivir carboxylate, is the pharmacologically active metabolite of the prodrug oseltamivir phosphate (Tamiflu®). It is a potent and selective inhibitor of influenza virus neuraminidase, an enzyme essential for the release of newly formed viral particles from infected cells. This inhibition effectively halts the spread of the virus within the respiratory tract. As the active form of the widely used antiviral drug, oseltamivir acid is the key substance responsible for the therapeutic effect against influenza A and B viruses. It is a critical reference standard and impurity in the quality control and pharmacokinetic studies of oseltamivir phosphate formulations. Its chemical structure features a cyclohexene ring with amino and pentyloxy substituents, and a carboxylic acid group that is esterified in the prodrug.
