    Product Description:
Dibutyryl cyclic adenosine monophosphate sodium salt is a cell-permeable, lipophilic analog of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). It is chemically modified by the addition of two butyryl groups to the ribose moiety, which significantly enhances its stability against phosphodiesterase degradation and improves its membrane permeability compared to native cAMP. Its primary application is in biomedical research and as a potential therapeutic agent. It functions as a potent activator of protein kinase A (PKA) by mimicking the second messenger cAMP, thereby influencing a wide range of cellular processes. Clinically, it has been investigated and used as a cardiotonic agent for the treatment of heart failure, angina pectoris, and acute myocardial infarction, primarily in some Asian markets. It is believed to improve cardiac function by increasing myocardial contractility and dilating coronary vessels. This compound is also widely utilized as a research tool in cell biology, biochemistry, and pharmacology to study cAMP-mediated signaling pathways, gene expression, cell differentiation, and ion channel regulation. It is typically supplied as a white to off-white powder and should be stored desiccated at low temperatures.
