    Product Description:
1,9-Decadiene is a linear, symmetrical diene with terminal double bonds. It is a colorless liquid with the molecular formula C₁₀H₁₈ and is characterized by its two reactive vinyl groups. Its primary industrial application is as a monomer or comonomer in polymerization reactions. It is used in the synthesis of polyolefins, polybutadiene rubbers, and, importantly, as a chain extender or crosslinking agent in the production of polyurethanes and other specialty polymers. The terminal double bonds readily undergo addition reactions, making it a valuable building block for creating polymers with specific properties, such as flexibility, toughness, or chemical resistance. As a bifunctional alkene, it also serves as a versatile organic synthesis intermediate in research and development. It can be used in metathesis reactions, hydroformylation, and other catalytic transformations to construct more complex molecules.
