    XPhos Pd G3 is a third-generation Buchwald-type palladium precatalyst, featuring a palladium(II) center coordinated with the bulky, electron-rich biarylphosphine ligand XPhos (2-dicyclohexylphosphino-2',4',6'-triisopropylbiphenyl) and a methanesulfonate (OMs) leaving group. Its well-defined, air-stable structure allows for rapid, reliable activation under mild conditions to generate the active Pd(0) species. This compound is widely employed in cross-coupling reactions, particularly for C-N bond formation (Buchwald-Hartwig amination) and C-C bond formations such as Suzuki-Miyaura and Negishi couplings. The XPhos ligand enhances catalytic activity for sterically hindered substrates, while the G3 precatalyst design ensures high reproducibility and low induction temperatures, making it a standard tool in both medicinal chemistry and process development.
