    Product Description:
Cis-1,2-Cyclohexanediamine is a chiral, aliphatic diamine compound. It exists as a colorless to pale yellow liquid or low-melting solid and is commercially available as a racemic mixture or in enantiomerically pure forms (e.g., (1R,2R)- and (1S,2S)-enantiomers). This compound is a versatile and fundamental building block in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry. Its primary application lies in its role as a precursor for chiral ligands and catalysts. The cis-1,2-diamine structure is a key motif in numerous privileged ligand families, such as derivatives of 1,2-diaminocyclohexane (DACH), which are widely used in asymmetric hydrogenation, epoxidation, and other enantioselective transformations. It is also employed in the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and as a curing agent for epoxy resins. As a bidentate ligand, it readily forms stable chelate complexes with various transition metals (e.g., Ru, Rh, Ir, Cu), which are central to catalytic activity. Handling requires standard precautions for amines, including use in a well-ventilated area and protection from moisture due to its hygroscopic nature and potential to absorb carbon dioxide from air.
