    Product Description:
Prostaglandin A1 (PGA1) is a naturally occurring cyclopentenone prostaglandin derived from prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) through dehydration. It is characterized by an α,β-unsaturated ketone moiety in its cyclopentane ring, which confers distinct biological properties compared to other prostaglandins. PGA1 exhibits a range of potent biological activities. It is a known vasodilator and has been investigated for its potential therapeutic effects in cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension. Beyond its cardiovascular effects, PGA1 has garnered significant research interest for its antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and notably, its antitumor and antiproliferative properties. These effects are largely attributed to its ability to induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in various cancer cell lines, potentially through mechanisms involving the modulation of heat shock protein expression and the activation of specific cellular stress response pathways. As a bioactive lipid mediator, PGA1 is primarily used as a critical research tool in biochemical and pharmacological studies to elucidate the roles of cyclopentenone prostaglandins in physiology and disease. Its stability compared to some other prostaglandins makes it a valuable compound for in vitro investigations.
