    Product Description:
Amprolium hydrochloride is a thiamine (vitamin B1) analog used exclusively as an anticoccidial agent in veterinary medicine. Its chemical structure features a pyrimidine ring substituted with an amino group and an alkyl side chain, which competitively inhibits thiamine uptake by coccidia parasites. This compound is a key active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in poultry and livestock feed additives and medications. It is primarily administered for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis, a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract caused by protozoa of the genus *Eimeria*. Amprolium's mechanism of action involves blocking the parasite's ability to utilize thiamine, leading to its death and controlling the infection. As a veterinary drug, it is not used in human medicine. Its application is strictly regulated in animal husbandry to ensure food safety, with established withdrawal periods before treated animals are processed for meat or eggs.
