    Product Description:
Vat Violet 10, also known as C.I. 60010, is a synthetic anthraquinone derivative belonging to the class of vat dyes. Its chemical structure is based on a dibenzanthrone core, which is responsible for its characteristic violet color and excellent fastness properties. As a vat dye, it is insoluble in water in its original oxidized form and requires a reduction process (vatting) to convert it into a water-soluble leuco compound for application, primarily on cellulosic fibers like cotton. The primary and most significant application of Vat Violet 10 is in the textile industry for dyeing and printing cotton fabrics. It is valued for its outstanding color fastness to light, washing, and chlorine, making it suitable for high-quality apparel and home textiles. Beyond traditional textiles, anthraquinone-based structures like Vat Violet 10 serve as important precursors or model compounds in the research and development of organic dyes for advanced materials, including potential applications in organic photovoltaics (OPV) or as functional chromophores. This dye exhibits high chemical stability under normal conditions. However, as with many vat dyes, its application process involves the use of reducing agents (e.g., sodium hydrosulfite) and alkaline conditions. Proper handling procedures and industrial wastewater treatment are necessary due to the environmental considerations associated with dyeing processes and auxiliary chemicals.
