    Product Description:
Hydrocortisone sodium succinate is the sodium salt of the hemisuccinate ester of hydrocortisone (cortisol). It is a white or almost white, hygroscopic, amorphous powder that is freely soluble in water and alcohol. This chemical modification significantly enhances the water solubility of the parent corticosteroid, making it suitable for parenteral administration. This compound is a synthetic glucocorticoid used primarily as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. Its main applications include the emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions, adrenal insufficiency (Addisonian crisis), shock, and acute exacerbations of inflammatory conditions. It exerts its effects by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, modulating gene expression to inhibit the synthesis of pro-inflammatory mediators. Due to its rapid onset of action when administered intravenously or intramuscularly, it is a critical agent in hospital emergency and intensive care settings. It is also used in some chemotherapy regimens to manage side effects. As a salt of a steroid API, it is classified as a finished pharmaceutical ingredient for injectable formulations.
