    Product Description:
Transfluthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. It is a halogenated derivative of chrysanthemic acid, specifically a fluorinated benzyl ester. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a faint characteristic odor and is practically insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. Its primary application is as a fast-acting, non-systemic insecticide with high vapor activity (vapor pressure: 1.9 × 10⁻² Pa at 25°C). It is widely used in public health and household settings for controlling flying insects such as mosquitoes, flies, and moths. Common formulations include mosquito coils, vaporizer mats, liquid vaporizers, and aerosol sprays for indoor and outdoor space treatment. It acts on the insect nervous system by disrupting voltage-gated sodium channels, leading to paralysis and death (knockdown effect). Transfluthrin is also registered for use in veterinary medicine as an ectoparasiticide, particularly in pet care products like flea collars and spot-on treatments. It is known for its low mammalian toxicity but is highly toxic to aquatic organisms. Its high volatility makes it effective for spatial repellency, contributing to its use in disease vector control programs.
