Tamsulosin hydrochloride is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist. It is a white to off-white crystalline powder with the chemical name (R)-5-[2-[[2-(2-Ethoxyphenoxy)ethyl]amino]propyl]-2-methoxybenzenesulfonamide hydrochloride.
