    Product Description:
Pramipexole dihydrochloride is the dihydrochloride salt form of pramipexole, a synthetic aminothiazole derivative. It is a white to off-white crystalline powder with the chemical formula C10H17N3S·2HCl and a molecular weight of 284.24 g/mol. The compound is highly soluble in water. Pramipexole is a potent, non-ergoline dopamine agonist with high selectivity for the D2 subfamily of dopamine receptors, particularly the D3 receptor subtype. Its primary therapeutic application is in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, where it is used to manage motor symptoms such as tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia. It is also approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe primary Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). The drug works by directly stimulating dopamine receptors in the striatum, compensating for the dopamine deficiency characteristic of Parkinson's disease. As an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), pramipexole dihydrochloride is formulated into immediate-release and extended-release oral tablets. Common side effects include nausea, dizziness, somnolence, and orthostatic hypotension. It is a prescription medication and is typically administered in a carefully titrated dosing regimen to minimize adverse effects.
